New IADMS Honorary Members and Featured Dancers

At our 32nd Annual Conference held in October 2022 in Limerick, Ireland, we were delighted to welcome two new honorary members and two featured dancers; all four of whom are world leaders in Irish Dance. Read more about each of them in this blog post.

Announcing the 2022 Dance Educators Award recipient

The Dance Educators Award recipient is announced each year as part of the annual conference. Gathering in person for the first time in 3 years in Limerick, Ireland, the Dance Educators’ Committee were pleased to announce the recipient of the 2022 award, Sonia Rafferty.

Introducing the 2022 Student Research Award Recipients

The IADMS Research Committee is proud to announce the two recipients of the 2022 Student Research Award! Student research abstracts for the IADMS 32nd Annual Conference were blind reviewed by the Research Committee, evaluating multiple criteria, from methodological merit to originality. All of the recipients have demonstrated outstanding and promising work, and we celebrate them for their accomplishments! 

Introducing the 2022 Student Researcher Travel Grant Recipients

The IADMS Research Committee is proud to announce the four recipients of this year's Student Researcher Travel Grants! Student research abstracts for the IADMS 32nd Annual Conference were blind reviewed by the Research Committee, evaluating multiple criteria, from methodological merit to originality. All of the recipients have demonstrated outstanding and promising work, and we celebrate them for their accomplishments! 

2022 Dance Educators Award Nominees - Part 1

The Dance Educators Committee is pleased to announce the 2022 nominees for the Dance Educators Award. Each year, the committee are overwhelmed by the nominations of dance educators working tirelessly across the globe to nurture dancers of all ages and backgrounds, sharing their knowledge and passion and utilizing dance science knowledge to inspire future generations of dancers and dance teachers.

In this blog post we introduce the fifth of six invited presentations for our upcoming annual conference in October.

We are pleased to introduce David Rodriguez MA, Emily Jenkins MA and Diane Hebert MD who will be presenting: ‘The role of dance in cancer care’. This is presented in collaboration between the IADMS Dance for Health and Medical Committees as part of our Special Interest Groups (SIG) programming.
